Who We Are
PaddyMatch.me is a community platform for the Irish diaspora, operated from Ireland. We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.
What Data We Collect
When you join our waitlist, we collect:
- Email address — so we can notify you when PaddyMatch.me launches and send you relevant updates
- Consent record — a record that you opted in to receive communications from us, including the date and time of your consent
We do not collect any other personal data at this stage. We do not use cookies or tracking technologies on this website.
Why We Collect Your Data (Legal Basis)
We collect your email address based on your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you provide by ticking the consent checkbox and submitting the waitlist form. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
How We Use Your Data
Your email address will only be used to:
- Notify you about the launch of PaddyMatch.me
- Send you occasional updates about PaddyMatch.me development and events
We will never sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Where Your Data Is Stored
Your form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, Inc., which acts as our data processor. Netlify's servers are located in the United States. Netlify complies with data protection requirements and maintains appropriate safeguards for international data transfers. You can read Netlify's Privacy Policy for more information.
If we connect our waitlist to an email marketing service (such as Mailchimp) in the future, we will update this policy to reflect that. Any such service will be GDPR-compliant.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We will retain your email address until one of the following occurs:
- You unsubscribe or request deletion of your data
- PaddyMatch.me launches and you either create an account (at which point a new privacy policy will apply) or choose not to, at which point your waitlist data will be deleted within 6 months
- We decide not to proceed with the platform, at which point all waitlist data will be deleted
Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — You can request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — You can ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — You can ask us to delete your data at any time
- Right to withdraw consent — You can withdraw your consent at any time, and we will stop processing your data
